Diane Forbes
Diane is a Program and Outreach Specialist at Kent District Library, and has worked in youth and adult programming and outreach for the past 12 years. During this time, she has been involved in all aspects of library system-wide programming from planning and scheduling to performing and training. As outreach specialist, she brings KDL information to community groups and organizations. And since 2006, Diane has presented PLAY-GROW-READ! early literacy programs that advocate the importance of early literacy among children from birth to 5 years old to countless parents, teachers and caregivers in the Kent County area. Diane has a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre and Speech Education from Illinois State University as well as a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Allison Brito
Allison is a Program and Outreach Specialist at Kent District Library. She helps coordinate the programs and events going on in KDL's 18 branches and works directly with the community to inform people about library services and early literacy. She has a B.S. in Intercultural Studies and TESOL from Kuyper College and her professional background is chiefly in education. Allison is fluent and Spanish and has taught all ages, including 5 years teaching in the Domincan Republic prior to coming to KDL.
