Adaptive Technology

In addition to the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped materials, patrons are welcome to take advantage of the available adaptive technologies at the Wyoming Branch:

  • Accessible Computer Station: equipped with large screen monitor, large-print keyboard and trackball mouse
  • JAWS: text-to-speech screen reader software
  • Closed-Circuit Reader: a closed-circuit television that can be used to magnify printed materials
  • Aladdin Ambassador: scans and reads printed materials aloud without the aid of a computer

Each Kent District Library branch is also equipped with a selection of handheld magnifiers for use within the library.
