What do the Friends of the Englehardt Library Do?

We work to create close relations between the library and the community. Our job is to promote knowledge of the library’s functions, resources, services, needs and to improve the library’s facilties. We are also the fundraising arm of the library.

What is done with the monies raised by the Friends of the Library?

  • We established and continue to maintain the Michigan Book Collection which features books about Michigan and/or written by Michigan authors
  • We purchase additional books and display fixtures for the Children’s area
  • We reclaimed and rennovated an area in the library dedicated to teens
  • We sponsor programs and speakers
  • We fund facility enhancements, such as a coffee bar, additional CD storage, a program room microwave and area rugs
