<p>The Grand Rapids Community Foundation <font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><a href="http://www.grfoundation.org/">http://www.grfoundation.org/</a></font></font><font face="Arial"></font></p> <p><font face="Arial">has awarded </font>a grant to the City of Kentwood to fund specialized early literacy furniture and integrated activities in the new Kentwood Branch Library due to be built in 2010.</p> <p>The funds will be used to create a &quot;babyscape&quot; for our youngest pre-readers. Custom made interactive learning spaces encourage young children to explore shapes, colors and other pre-reading&nbsp;activities. Children learn through&nbsp;play.
