Spring Programs for Adults


Sit-n-Stitch – First Tuesday of each month (March 5, April 2 and May 7) 6:00 pm


Share ideas and skills while making new friends. Bring your own quilting, appliqué, knitting or crochet projects and supplies. This is not an instructor-led activity. Presented in partnership with the Grand Rapids Appliqué and Needlework Society. For adults.



Lily of the Valley is for Happiness – Thursday, May 2, 6:30 pm


Learn the Victorian language of flowers. Wendy Batchelder from "Lost Arts" will appear in full Victorian costume to talk about the meaning of flowers. Make a simple tussie mussie to give to someone who makes you happy! Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. For teens and adults.





Relay for Life – Friday, May 3 12:00 pm – Saturday, May 4, 12:00 pm


Join the Byron Township Branch team at the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Byron Center. Fundraising teams, caregivers and cancer survivors will join together to Celebrate, Remember and Fight Back as a community! Visit www.relayforlife.org/byroncentermi for more information. Event lasts from noon on May 3 through noon on May 4 and will be held at Nickels Intermediate School (8638 Byron Center Avenue SW). For all ages.



Early Childhood Essentials


FUN-ics – 15 Minutes/Day for Reading Success – Thursday, April 18, 6:30 pm


Guest speaker JoAnn Hubach will provide parents and caregivers with fun and easy ways to boost children’s reading skills. Receive professional development hours or just learn some great information about early childhood—perfect for parents or childcare providers! Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Adults only please; childcare is not provided.


No Fuss Feeding – Thursday, May 16, 6:30 pm


Join Ann Kluting for an informative session learning things you can do that lead to more pleasant mealtimes. Receive professional development hours or just learn some great information about early childhood—perfect for parents or childcare providers! Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Adults only please; childcare is not provided.





KDL SPECIAL PROGRAMS


KDL Gives Back – Monday, April 1 – Tuesday, April 30


Help end childhood hunger in Kent County by Supporting Kids’ Food Basket. During the month of April, KDL Gives Back will sponsor juice box collection at all 18 branches.
