Sit-n-Stitch – June 4 & August 6, 6:00 pm


Share ideas and skills while making new friends. Bring your own quilting, appliqué, knitting or crochet projects and supplies. This is not an instructor-led activity. Presented in partnership with the Grand Rapids Appliqué and Needlework Society.


Digging into your Past: Online Genealogy Research (BYO Laptop) - Tuesday, July 16, 6:00 pm



Begin researching your family history in this hands-on class using your own laptop. Access numerous online genealogy resources to search vital records, state and federal census and immigration records. Prerequisites: Participants must be experienced using the mouse and Internet. Registration not required.


Byron Days Book Sale – Friday, July 26 – Wednesday, July 31 during open hours



While you are attending the Byron Days Festival, a fun-filled family weekend in Byron Center, stop by the Byron Township Library for great deals on a variety of books, movies and more. Book sale runs Friday, July 26 through Wednesday, July 31 during the library’s open hours.


KDL Gives Back: Old Flag Collection – Friday, June 14 – Saturday, July 6



Bring old U.S. flags into the library for proper disposal. From Friday, June 14 (Flag Day), through Saturday, July 6, all 18 branches of the Kent District Library will be collecting old United States Flags. In cooperation with local Boy Scout troops, these flags will then be properly disposed of during flag retirement ceremonies.
