Kent District Library - Information. Ideas. Excitement!

Attention aspiring poets: KDL is having its fifth annual poetry contest! Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate from Schuler Books and Music. Winning entries will be published online and in a special 2008 poetry booklet.

Contest Guidelines:

• Contest is open to Kent County residents aged 13-18.

• Poems must be submitted by April 30, 2008 to any KDL branch. An entry form must be submitted as well. Entry forms are available at all KDL locations or here. You can also email your poetry entry to mdoane@kdl.org. If sent by email, please include all applicable entry form information in the content of your email. Poems emailed without entry form information will not be eligible.

• A maximum of three poems can be submitted.

• Submissions become the property of Kent District Library and will not be returned. Be sure to make a copy for yourself.

• Winning entries will appear on the KDL website’s teen page. KDL reserves the right to correct minor spelling and grammatical errors.

• Ten winners system-wide will receive a $50.00 gift card from Schuler Books & Music. Winners will be announced by May 15.

• Staff and immediate family are not eligible to enter this contest.
