Hey kids! Ready for your next Boredom Buster? Today’s mission, should you choose to accept it, is to join the Children’s Book Week Challenge! Children’s Book Week is celebrated the first full week of May and is the longest national literacy initiative in the country (it was created in 1919 and turns 101 this year!). Download or print out the Reading Challenge sheet and see how many you can complete.
Now, you may have books at home that will fit the challenge categories, but you can also find new books using the library’s Libby by Overdrive app. With your parent’s help, download the free app with a KDL library card by following these instructions. Open the app and find the “Explore” link in the upper right and tap/click. Choose the Kids Guide to discover books just for you! Let us know you’re tackling the challenge by commenting or sharing a photo of your challenge sheet to KDL’s Facebook or Instagram.
