In response to COVID-19, Kent District Library is taking several steps to protect our staff and the general public – in particular the high-risk populations we serve and the high-risk populations who work and volunteer for the library.
Michigan Governor Whitmer has issued an Executive Order, closing to the public all libraries in the state until April 13, 2020. All library locations are closed to public access. Programs, outreach visits, bookmobile visits and book sales have been cancelled.
The situation will be closely monitored and we are exploring alternate ways to continue providing service. For updates, visit KDL.org/coronavirus and our social media pages.
We will continue to communicate any further impacts to the library system.
In the meantime, many digital services are available to you remotely and for free, such as eBooks, eAudiobooks, movies, music, newspapers, magazines and more.
Additionally, all due dates for materials have been extended through May 1 and circulation of physical materials from the MEL collection has been suspended.
You can contact library staff via online chat or call 616.784.2007 for assistance.
