Checkouts will be turned off in cloudLibrary on Tuesday, May 26, at 4 PM and KDL's digital items will be transferred to OverDrive over the next several weeks.
Below are frequently asked questions about KDL's changing from cloudLibrary to OverDrive/Libby for its main ebook and audiobook collection:
What happens to cloudLibrary items that are checked out before May 26?
Items that have been checked out will continue to be available to you until they reach their regular due date. Be sure to verify that your checked-out items are downloaded and that you can open them.
Will my holds transfer to OverDrive?
Yes! KDL staff have recorded all existing holds and holds are in the process of being added to your OverDrive account.
Why not offer both OverDrive/Libby and cloudLibrary?
Offering both services would be cost prohibitive because we would need to maintain collections in both systems, paying royalties to publishers for both, plus we would need to support two systems. We’re confident that OverDrive/Libby provides everything that cloudLibrary offers with greater compatibility with a variety of devices and formats.
