In 1998, Kent District Library’s newest branch opened in Spencer Township in a building it shares with the township offices. The 2,000-square-foot building is located in a beautiful rural setting near several lakes.
The Friends support the library through fund-raising events and outreach services to the larger community. It holds annual book sales and supports the library by funding programming and purchasing items such as an outdoor picnic area, comfortable interior seating, wood shelving, a diaper changing station in the ladies’ restroom, and more. The group spearheads an effort to support community needs during the winter holiday season. New members are always welcome; information is available at the library.
