Welcome! You’re just 3 easy requirements away from getting a Kent District Library Card:
1. You must live within the KDL service area.
If you do not live in our service area, please visit your local library to obtain a library card.
We're sorry, but City of Grand Rapids residents are not eligible for KDL online registration, and must register for a card with Grand Rapids Public Library. You can do this using GRPL's card registration form or by visiting any GRPL location or any KDL location.
2. You must be 18 years or older.
If you would like to register a minor for a card, we need the minor to come into one of our branches with someone 18 or older who is willing to be a co-signer on the account. The co-signer must have a valid ID and either one or both of you must live in the KDL service area. If the minor does not have a co-signer, we can issue a limited-privilege card, which allows the checkout of three KDL books and access to the internet at our branches.
3. You must be in need of a new KDL card.
If you currently have a KDL Library Card and it's expired or your address has changed, you do not need to fill out a new registration form. Either fill out the Library Card Update Form or call our Patron Services Department at 616-784-2007 and we will help you renew your card! It's a quick and easy process.
If you've lost your card, you can either apply online using the link below for a new, temporary card number with limited privileges or visit a branch in person with a valid ID that shows your address. Completing the in-person registration process will get you a full-privilege card immediately.
If you are unable to visit a branch for any reason, you can apply for a new card below, and will be issued a temporary number you can use for digital checkouts and holds on physical items. However, in order to obtain full checkout privileges with your new card, you must visit a KDL branch with a valid ID to confirm your identity.
By submitting an application, you understand and agree to our Kent District Library Policies and Guidelines, and to the following statement:
A member library card entitles the cardholder to use the services of the Lakeland Cooperative member libraries subject to the rules and procedures of the library used. The cardholder is responsible for the return of, and for any loss or damage to, all materials borrowed with this library card, and also to pay fees or charges established under the above rules and procedures. I agree to pay fees or charges established under the rules and procedures of the library used. Notices are sent as a courtesy. Nonreceipt of a notice does not eliminate liability for outstanding material or fees.
